Amal Totkay —My take!
Hello readers! So, today in my blog I’ll talk about the five Amal totkay I learnt. I’ll begin with defining what are these totkay.
so there are 5 totkay. These totkas are some life advices that helps you grow and be a better version of yourself each day. they are about how one can develop a growth mindset. So, there are 5 small but daring steps to develop a growth mindset. why i call them daring is because convincing yourself to do something or bringing about a change in yourself is one of the biggest challenge, but who doesn’t like challenges!
So, basically what is a growth mindset. Dwect,2015, defines growth mindset as a frame of mind, thought process, in which people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work — brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.”
Basically, if i had to describe growth mindset in one line statement then it would be, “nothing is impossible”. Amal, guides us through five totkays, or call it steps, to develop this growth mindset. the amal totkays are:
- Self talk
- Get out of your comfort zone
- Create new habits
- Ask people help
- Fake it till you make it
For a short description of these totkay, check out this growth mindset toolkit. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S55V1aZmHs_puKCzLQ4WbfDau6g4C1ux/view
these steps may seem like nothing but believe me they will help you grow, they’ll help you adapt and change for better. however, the key to their success is to keep trying, keep working on ourselves, daily, little by little!
One of my favorite totka is fake it till you make it. No one in this world is born with all but that doesn’t mean they can’t have it all; or at least one specific thing in they want in themselves. things like leadership and confidence are not innate. you learn and develop skills and ways to inculcate such qualities in yourself. and one of the easiest way to do that is to do that by faking it
At first faking things will be hard but soon they’ll become your second nature and you’ll not even know when you have actually started being what you faked it now. (I hope you fake things only to inculcate good habits coz God there’s already too much bad in this world)
I use “fake it till you make it” especially when i am doing something new or doing some project work. first, I reflect on my self and see what i am and am not able to do. I then talk myself into how i am able to do anything coz in the end i am a human; Ashraf-ul-makhlooqat.( This is the self convincing thought I use. You may some other) After that I start inculcating habits and ways i could achieve my goal and then in the end, like an Oscar winning actress, i fake it! i fake it like i have it all under control. i have no anxiety. UFF! what anxiety! is that even a word! Even, if it is than i am not awaze of it and i don’t even want to be :))
In the end, I'll like to conclude my today’s blog with the statement that if i an do it, so can you!
All you need is a little courage and believe in your own self and capabilities and i assure you that you can even move mountains. (Please move Everest to Pakistan so that we can have two world highest peaks here ;P)
